PROFILES: I wish to manage my users’ profiles
Managing user profiles allows you to set up the features available for each user. For instance, this lets you differentiate the features displayed for a salesperson, a product manager or a customer.
Accessing profile management
In order to create a profile, you must go to the “Settings” section and click on “Profile”.
You will then see a list of available profiles.
Creating a profile
For this example, we will create a profile for our sales people. Let’s click on “Create a Profile” and name this profile “Sales Person”.
Adding features to a profile
We now need to assign the features we want to make available to our sales people.
You will find the list of available features here.
For our sales people, we will activate the following modules:
- Search card
- Research silhouette
- Manufacturer matrix
Organising the feature layout on the homepage
By clicking on the house icon in the top left of the menu, you can immediately see the homepage with the features you have selected. However, the default homepage layout is not to your liking:
You can edit it by going back to the profile admin page and clicking on “Homepage layout”:
This screen allows you to manage the modules layout. Simply use the arrows to position the modules according to your preferences. Here, we will arrange the search card in column 1, the silhouette in column 2, and the manufacturer matrix in column 3, to obtain this layout:
This will give the following homepage:
Managing several profiles
By creating and assigning several profiles, you can customise access to Deck’s features according to your users’ specific missions. Here is an example of the same entity as seen by different “marketing” profiles that focuses on catalogue administration and Business Intelligence.
Editing a user’s profile
Creating multiple profiles within your company allows you to assign the right profile to each user.
Let’s use the following example to illustrate how you can edit your users’ profiles:
“Mr Hervé Dupont has just taken up a new position in the Marketing department. I’m going to assign him a Marketing profile to grant him access to the modules he needs in his new role.”
To access user accounts, simply go to Settings > Accounts.
From this page, you can access all user accounts created within your company. The “Profile” column allows you to check the profiles assigned to each user. For instance, Hervé Dupont has a “Sales person” profile.
To edit your user’s profile, click on “Details” next to the account in question.
Simply click on “Manage access to profiles” to “Remove access” to Hervé Dupont’s “Sales person” profile and “Grant access” to the “Marketing” profile.
Once access has been granted, the profile turns green to indicate the user has the right profile. They can now use the platform with their new Marketing profile.
