I would like to receive guidance in my search for a product
An end user asks you for advice:
“My machinists have encountered an issue. Machining creates sharp stringy chips, so they wear gloves to protect themselves from cuts. The problem is that, when they change the cutting tool, oil tends to drip on the back of their fingers and impregnate their gloves. One of them has developed dermatitis, probably due to contact with this oil.”
We will see in the following video how to recommend the right product, even if you don't have a lot of PPE experience.
By clicking on “Guide me” on the search card, you can trigger a series of simple questions that will help you ask - and ask yourself - the right questions for effective recommendation.
(1) I wish to be guided. | (2) I'm looking for a glove. |
|
|
(3) My interlocutor needs cut protection against chips, but also requires dexterity to change the cutting tool. According to the pictograms, the better the cut protection, the lower your dexterity, so I compromise and opt for “High cut, medium dexterity”. |
(4) My interlocutor mentioned oil, meaning they work with liquids. |
(5) I select “Oil”. | (6) They told me about dripping on the back of their fingers, so a fist coating would suffice. If I suggest higher protection, my client will be warmer when wearing the glove. |
(7) I check that my client has no heat risk and I select “No” or skip the question. | (8) I am not interested in any of these elements, so I skip the question. |
I get a selection of 12 products that meet the criteria mentioned at the top of the page: these gloves are non-breathable (the crossed-out filter is a negative filter), oil compatible, waterproof on the fist, and offer good grip as well as a high level of cut protection.
To see more details on each product, I can click on them or switch to a large card format. This way, I can browse through the main features of selected gloves.
If I made a mistake on a specific filter, I can correct it directly.
For instance, if I’ve decided I don’t need the glove to protect against cuts, I can click on the “Cut" filter and select “Low cut”.
I can delete a filter if I no longer want to take it into account in my search. |
|
I can also invert the filter. By inverting the “Cut” filter, I get results showing gloves in “Anything but High” categories, i.e. “Low”, “Medium” and “Very High”. |
Crossed-out filter = Negative filter = Anything but Cut = “High” = Cut = “Low” OR “Medium” OR “Very high” |
