I would like to find a product for which I don’t have the reference: Introducing the search card

You don’t always know the reference of the product you’re looking for. Here we will learn how to find specific products using various selection criteria.

To do so, we will use the search card. It is accessible from any screen by clicking on its dedicated icon on the right of the search bar.

Its card-shaped design was specially created to fit your phone’s screen. This means you can easily search from any mobile device.

The search card was built as a series of interlinked questions to help you find what you’re looking for. Each question is asked here (at the top of the card) and can have one or more of the answers listed here (in the card’s bottom section).

The first question prompts you to choose among all possible search methods:

“Guide me” allows a user with no technical knowledge to find the product they need. We have set up a series of straightforward questions that do not require any expertise and deal with known elements such as the work environment, risks or expected benefits of a product.

Tip No.1: You don’t need to answer all questions. You can move on to the next question by clicking “Skip”.

“Search by criteria” is intended for more experienced users, as it allows you to carry out very precise searches by combining numerous criteria such as risks, standards, technical specifications, and other factors such as sizes or colours for instance.

“Search by manufacturer” lets you restrict your search to one or more manufacturers.

Tip No.2: Whenever you want to select multiple answers to a question, simply click on the check mark in the top right corner of the search card.

There are two other search modes that may have been activated by your company. To see them, let’s switch over to the entity of our fictitious distributor RED.

“Search through a catalogue” allows you to limit your search to products already listed in the catalogue that RED has made available to its teams (here the sales plan). By clicking here, you can only search for products from this specific catalogue.

“Search by specific criteria” (#myentity): here you can use criteria defined by RED, such as the presence or absence of a product in your official selection;

  • If I don’t have a precise idea of what I’m looking for, or if I’m new to making recommendations (Guide me)
  • If I know exactly what I am looking for (Search by criteria)
  • If I am looking for a product from a specific manufacturer (Search by manufacturer)
  • If I am looking for a product from a specific catalogue (Search through a catalogue)
  • If I am looking for product information documented by my company (Search by specific criteria)
